![]() ![]() This should solve any issue you might have in trying to fit the wiring behind the unit in certain vehicles (do this at your own risk, as you could potentially damage your unit or your vehicle. If you run into this issue, I recommend buying some wire of the same gauge and simply cutting and soldering an extension of about 3 inches between the connector and the box. Installation Note: The connector that clicks into the unit is very close to the power transformer box (unsure of actual name of this piece), which can make installing this unit complicated - especially in vehicles like my '09 VW New Beetle, due to the way the dash mount is structured. A great first head unit for anyone looking to upgrade their stock radio in their car. The short version: I would recommend this unit! For the price, it is an unbeatable value with very few quirks or issues. CD's and Radio seem just fine while browsing other menu screens. As far as I can tell, it is only with bluetooth that this occurs. One minor issue with the unit is that if you are streaming music from your phone or iPod via bluetooth and want to change settings or anything else, the second you leave the bluetooth screen it will stop playing your music. You'll also find wires to connect steering wheel controls and a subwoofer (if applicable). The rear of the unit provides RCA connections for video in as well as the audio-out for the speakers. It also has an onboard SD card slot so you can store your music in your unit, which is quite helpful if you don't want to tote around your CD's or don't have a device to stream music from. This device can operate with the screen stowed or extended, which is quite helpful. From what a family member told me, the call quality (transmitting using the built-in mic on the unit) is surprisingly good. Call quality (receiving) is just as good as listening through my iPhone 6 ear speaker. It's simple to navigate, fairly quick to respond to touches, and offers adequate settings options, but no customisation options. The GUI (Graphical User Interface) is significantly better than some budget touchscreen units I've used. There is a helpful wiring diagram on the metal body. ![]() The motorised screen feels somewhat flimsy when extended, but no more than you would really expect. Unit looks great and has decent build quality. Instructions for wiring are absent, but unneeded since you basically just match the wire colours. The wiring for this unit is quite simple and can be connected within about 15 minutes. I also purchased the necessary wiring harness adaptor(s) and dash kit from Metra. I bought this unit with the intent of installing it in my 2009 Volkswagen New Beetle. ![]()
